I bought two Option 2 Dual Port Ram cards as backups, but they do not seem to work. I tested them in a known working system using the Motion Applet to add the PMAC device. I set DPR address to 0D000 (as with the known working card) but the applet reports that it cannot find the PMAC. Both of the new cards do the same. Comparing these non-working cards to my working one I found a couple of things different. The part # for the good card was 602240-101, while the bad cards were both 602240-102. The good card has a serial number hand etched in the serial number block, and both of the bad cards were blank. Both of the bad cards had pins 41 & 42 (in the 50-pin head…

I have an Advantage 500 (I think) 8-switch Operator Control Panel, part # 602601-101, and am needing the schematic, or manual to go with it so that I can properly set jumpers/DIP switches, power connections, etc. Thanks, Steve

Many years ago I 'almost' got a lathe project running, with a PMAC-1, using the NC v2.36 software, and an Advantage 500 (I think) panel, with the 8-switch control panel. Being stubborn, I am going to make another run at it. At the time, NC v2.36 was the choice - is that still appropriate for the PMAC 1? Or does DT have newer, more robust version that will work with the the control I have? Or, are there other 3-rd party vendors that have software? Comments on your past experiences with DT NC software, suggestion, etc are appreciated. Cheers, Steve

Hi, I'm tried connect delta tau PMAC PC104 delta HMI model:DOP-B04S211, but it's failed. i'm pretty sure on baud rate setting. My delta HMI just have RXD, TXD,GND, RTS and CTS. it's enough wiring connection to delta tau? because normally delta tau connect to PC through RS232 is used 7 wiring connection of 9 pin com port. I have apply same wiring to delta HMI also failed. I just want get advise on wiring connection between delta tau PMAC PC104 with delta HMI.

We are trying to create a new image using windows 7 embedded standard. I started with a simple image that lets me do everything with PMAC but I needed to add more features so my program works correctly. Somewhere in the middle I can no longer insert my PCI PMAC into the device list to give it a device number. It lists the device as an option to add and gives me no error message. It just does not add it to the list. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My boss acquired an awesome but older machine tool from Oak Ridge. It is an X-Y granite table with Anorad DC-brush linear motors and Heidenhain scales. I am hooking up a DT PMAC-PC running under Windows 98 with PMAC-Win32. The PMAC-PC has the 80Mhz CPU, 8-axis and DPRAM options. The PMAC-PC is connected to a DT PMAC-NC front panel (via J3) and a couple ACC-8DP I/O boards (via the 2 JMACH cables). This is really old stuff (I apologize in advance) but the machine itself is one of a kind and worth the effort. If I can make it work we will buy all new (supported) motors/scales before using the machine for any production work. I have one of the encoders working, the Y…

We are having trouble with amplifier faults using a PMAC2 and a GPL201 amplifier. We get occasional (every minute or so) amplifier faults back at the PMAC2 board, but they don't appear to be coming from the amplifier. There is no fault code on the amplifier, and we can get around this problem by disabling the amplifier fault checking in Ix25. Of course, this leaves us without an amplifier fault input. Has anyone seen this behavior before? This is a seven axis system, so we have been able to swap around the cabling, Acc8 boards, etc. The problem always seems to follow the GPL201 amplifier. (Note: The other amplifiers in the system are GPL052 and GPL102s. They …

I am using ADVANTAGE 400. I am trying to use the analog output of the PMAC2 terminal. I have used a MAXON DC motor with encoder and a MAXON servo amplifier with it. Motor is running in close loop. The serial communication between ADVANTAGE 400 and pewin32 is established successfully. My question is how can I control the speed of the motor from pewin32. Please help!

Hello all, I am working on a project upgrading a system from an old PMAC1 card to a newer version. I have very little information (read: none) on the wiring of the amps at the other side of the JMACH1 cable. I am operating under the assumption that the JMACH1 pins are consistent between versions - as such I assume that if I configure the the new card the same as the old one, there shouldn't be a problem. (please, correct me if I am wrong). I have connected the new card, however when I power up the amps, a loud buzzing sound comes from the back of the PMAC card. Similar to a fan spinning with an obstruction. I am not sure what could be the cause of this. Is it like…

I have two PMAC-VME boards. Operational board running v1.17w/40Mhz processor. One back up board running ver 1.16 w/20 Mhz processor. We made software changes and wanted to update the backup board and it failed during the download of new files. Mistakenly I believe we installed the jumper 51 and reset it to factory default erasing the original files. I have tried many iterations of download attempt with nothing successful. I am beginning to believe the backup board has failed in some way. The battery is good. Am I missing something in this process? Is there a problem with v 1.16 vs v 1.17?

I have a Universal lite 602402-106 that has been in a box for 9 years, it looks brand new & I'm just trying to see if it is useable, but I cannot establish any communication with it. I've tried it in an ISA slot,Ive tried a few different base addresses, & I tried it via serial & no joy. The led's light up on power up , I have green pwr indicator & the yellow led, the red watchdog does not light up. It has battery backed memory, I imagine the battery is dead by now, will that be a factor? I've gone through the jumper settings & set all to defaults as per the manual. Any suggestions? I'm no expert with these, the only other one I have set up was …

I have a three color offset printer application in which three axis are mastered to a phantom axis and the phantom axis is mastered to an aux axis feedback channel which is driven by an idler roller which tracks the paper as it passes through the machine. Intermittently, the whole system comes to an abrupt stop in a fashion that suggests the motors are being driven to zero speed, as opposed to coasting. The sudden stop damages the press plates. Mtr 1-3 Parker motors with GPH 30/60 Amps Mtr 4 phantom axis using stepper electronic feedback Mtr 6 aux axis This is a Turbo PMAC2 VME frimware version 1.938, with Sick/Stegmann absolute encoders and ACC51P Opt2 for all fo…

Hi Thanks for looking at this. I have been using a PMAC Mini (ISA) for performing 2 axis of servo motion. Axis 1 was used for Torque Control; Axis 2 was used for Position (Velocity) Control. It has worked ok for many years. Last week, I could not get it to Jog properly on Axis 2. Using PEWin software, if I issue a Jog Stop ( J/ ) command, the motor is energized and immediately starts moving at a slow rate in one direction. Attempts to change the direction using the J+ or J- command has no effect. Also Jog to Position command ( J:xxxx) does not work. I measured the Servo Voltage output from the PMAC Mini card. It was around 150mV before energizing; and sligtly more…

Hello, I'm working on a plant with 3 Pmac2/PC104 racks, all connected to the same PC; 2 are connected with Ethernet and one with serial (since I need the DPRAM on ACC2P). Each PMAC has its own HMI, communication server is PCommServer (Pewin32Pro2). One of these PMACs (with Eth) showed a pretty strange behaviour: while working one of the axes executed the "end of cycle" movement in advance (but the others didn't) but, worst of all, the machine stopped responding to commands. I connected with my laptop to see what was going on and as soon as I established the communication the machine started responding again.... This thing happened twice, and while the anti…

I am using a PMAC2 PC104 card. We are controlling two servo axes. The system has several PLC's, PLCC's and a motion program running. Most of the time the application performs well. Usually once in an 8 hour shift the controller will perform some of the I/O operations out of sequence, for example turning on an output, not the same one or at the same time all very random. I was wondering if anyone had seen this before. I am leaning toward resetting the device with a $$$*** and reloading all programs, maybe a program buffer corruption error. I would appreciate any advice from anyone that has seen this before. We have used Delta Tau for years running different variation…

On one of our older machines running NC 2.36(1) we received the following error message, which is an Inhibit message: system: 3007 Pmac run-time error System was in Auto mode running a program that has run many times before. Servo control was just fine, there were no other glitches. When system was switched from Auto to Manual mode, error was reset and no flags were tripped as viewed by PEWIN32, so no debugging could really be done. What are potential causes of this error?

Hi people I'm really new working with this Devices, so i have a lot of questions but right now i'd like your help to communicate my PC with PMAC VME. I have the PWIN32, let me explain you what i did...firstly opened the MotionExe and appears a pop-up,push ADD button and select Device Number. Then push setup button and select Serial Port (using COM1, 9600, NONE) and push OK button, in that moment appears another pop-up what it says ""Unable to establish serial communications"" i used all baudrates and didn't work. I forgot to make any other configuration?? help me

I'm using Profibus MLDT sensors to close the loop to some hydraulic axes. To do so I get the encoder position from profibus and put it into a 24 bit register e.g. m1000->X:$772,0,24,S Then I set up the Encoder conversion table to get the data from "Parallel pos from Y/X with filtering" (but actually I tried also from Y and without filtering). The Issue that I have is that the ECT doesn't correctly apply bits shifting, so regardless of the setting I get 1/32 of the value in M1000 as position counts. so if M1000 equals 10000 I get 312,5 cts if I set "Normal shift (5 bits to the left" and also if I set "No Shifting") Macro Shifting gives a different result. …
