I appreciate any suggestions and helps from community for the following codes for homing 2 motors. The current code used H/W limit sensors but I want to disable HW flag and use SW flags instead. I tried to set I197=1, I124=$20000, I7212=0, I7213=0, I113-32000 and I could not make it to work. Thanks for the help. I'm wondering how to see the effect of the compensation table on the motor. I'm using I51 to switch between 0/1 and thought I find the effect in the difference between M161 and M162 or maybe in M169. However these don't seem to change. The compensation table is defined as: #1 DEF COMP 2438,#1D,#1,16384 ... Where can I find this?

Hello, I am new to PMAC and this forum community, and I would appreciate for your helps to solve my Turbo PMAC 2 issues: TYP TURBO2, X4 VER 1.940 CID 603382 The following events were some of descriptions of the problem: 1) The host PC won't power up due to bad mother board. Replaced new same type (OS) of PC with original HD. After powering up the equipment and host PC, the equipment booted up, but I didn't complete initialization (stuck in "Homing in process") 2) Then I communicated with Turbo PMAC2 controller via serial port and went reset sequences ( $$$*** SAVE $$$) and performed download old back up CFG from my PC to controller and…

Dear all, I had faced issues in the past with dpram on Turbo PMAC and managed to make it work with the help of Steve. I used Bin rotary to execute the larger NC codes and normal coordinates update through DeviceResponse(). I tried the similar code on a new machine with v1.95 (previously v.1.94) and the program initially was executing for smaller size programs and also updated coordinates. We tried to run larger file size and it failed. After which, we had changed the buffer size and now none of the file gets executed. We provide a "&1B0R" after sending a set of NC lines and I57=1 and I58=1. Size command gives 25006 while rot buffer closed and 13046 while it's open. …

Hello All, We have a fleet of the Geobrick Turbo PMAC based application. We build our own HMI and using PCommServerLib for communciation, which is 32 bit. Recently we are planning to upgrade our software to 64 bit and the current PCommServerLib would not be compatible. Such that, I am wondering if there is any 64 bit version of the pcommserverlib dll that we could use, or any other communication approaches that is compatible with a 64bit application Thanks for the insights Warren

Hello, I am currently working on Clipper PLUS T3 controller. It is an 8axis clipper . I am using amp 1,2,3 as a milling machine. I want to integrate the spindle to the PMAC Controller and require DAC output. From the thread below I setup I variables. Looked at this thread but could not find an answer http://forums.deltatau.com/showthread.php?tid=185&highlight=spindle+clipper Same as the thread I would like to use DAC output from axis 6. This is what I set I7100=1090 I7101=5 I7102=3 // Output Mode , PWM I7126=0 ; default // Maximum Output I669=1090 ; DAC limit 10 Vdc Then (I600=0 (motor not active)) M602=545 however it did not show 5V. …

Hi folks, I've recently added some new equipment to a Z-Axis as part of an upgrade. This has added a fair bit of weight to the axis and the motor isn't coping too well as a result. There is another machine on site ( a Fanuc), that uses air assist which works really well, so, i'd like to try the same approach on the affected machine. Controller is a Turbo Pmac2 in a UMAC configuration. I've configured a spare output (M7135) and tested it ok. Could someone provide me with a code example on how to fire this output? Output to energise an air solenoid. Basically what is required is, once a counter-clockwise movement of the motor is detected, M7135 needs to go high. M…

Delta Tau Person in charge Thank you for your help. There is software (VB6.0) using PTalkDT.ocx on old PC (Windows2000 or XP). This time, OS was updated to Windows10 (32bit or 64bit). Does Pcomm32w.dll have the same function as "UploadData" of PTalkDT.ocx used in software (VB6.0)? I want to upload PMAC internal data (Gather) with software (VB6.0) and save it to a file. Please introduce any manuals you refer to. that's all, thank you very much.

We are having problems with corrupt dual port ram read data. The diagnostic supplied in PEWin is only Write from PMAC/ Verify on PC. I need to operate in the other direction, ie Write from PC/Verify on PMAC. Ideally this test would be able to do $5555, $AAAA, Walking zero, walking ones and checkerboard. Has anybody put together such a diagnostic?

Hello everyone, I tried running a G code on my PMAC and I noticed that Rapid move (G00) and Dwell (G04) commands are not responding the way I thought they should considering their corresponding PMAC program command. The G04 does not respond and the G00 command moves very slow than expected I have run the G-code subroutine program (PROG 1000). It seems strange to me because other G-code commands work alright. Please can anyone provide any information that will guide me to fix this? Thank you Regards, Sam

Hello everyone, I just configured a micro milling machine and in order to test the machine, I wrote a simple program to generate a profile. The program has linear and circle commands. I ran the program yesterday and it worked. it generated the profile I wanted. but I came in today to test the same program but it's not generating the profile. instead of circular motion, it is generating a straight line. please can anybody tell me what might be the cause? I will sincerely appreciate your assistance to help me fix this problem Thank you Regards, Samuel

Hello everyone, Please I want to ask if it is possible to run a Profile Simulation using the PEWIN32PRO2 software? I am setting up a micro-milling system that will cut simple and complex profiles. So, I want to write a program that can cut a profile using the micro milling machine but before conducting a real cutting process, I want to run the program and see the resulting output profile on the terminal. Please I will like to know if this is possible using the PENWIN32PRO2 SOFTWARE? Thank you. Regards, Sam PS: I using three motors with a TURBO2, X4, and a spindle.

One of our servicemen captured the attached plot of the commanded position for a motor that is set up as an open loop, step and direction motor. The motor is being moved between two positions (0.43" and 0.20") with a "J=" jog command. The highlighted area shows an overshoot. Why does the motor overshoot its position when there is no real encoder signal or other feedback? I don't know if this caused a problem, I'm curious why the commanded position is not identical each time.

Dear All, We need to execute a NC file of 3MB which consist of 120k lines. We are currently downloading smaller file size programs into one of the program (OPEN PROG 1300 - for example) and CLOSE the program before executing using R command. But this doesn't seem to working in the case of larger file size programs. So Kindly let me know what is the possible file size/no.of lines that can be executed in one single motion program. Also i see that PMAC has 256 motion programs, so in this case will it be possible to divide the NC lines in multiple motion programs and execute them in sequence (PROG 1300, 1301,1302,1303,... etc.). If this can work, how to go about this met…

We use Turbo Clipper, and it runs fine. Recently we had a need to assign positions on-the-fly to only two (out of four) axes in a coordinate system. So I wrote the following line in my PLC code: CMD"&1X=29.5Y=29.5" I thought this was working fine for several months (it does have the desired effect). Seemingly unrelated until now, we've had several random customers complain that sometimes they were seeing the A and Z axes (not really a cartesian coordinate system in our case) get offset to strange positions. We've been unable to see this happen until last week, when I was told the feature which used the above CMD seemed to cause major problems with motor posi…

I'm using a Turbo PMAC 2 Clipper to operate machines with 3-5 axes. I use the position compare hardware pulses to fire a droplet dispenser or laser during motion. We have almost 20 years practice in our company doing this. I now have for the first time, and only with one Clipper card, seen random noise pulses on an OR of all four EQU lines of the Clipper. They show up whenever they want to, no motion needed. The card has gone back for service, so I don't have any at hand. However, having sorted out all kinds of external causes, I just (re)discovered that on this card, I had set the Position Compare Channel Select I7011 to 1, because the manuals (both PMAC and …
