Dear All, We have a couple of project with PZT actuator recently. We use Turbo PMAC 2 as our controller. We have 6-axis cards, I/O card, CPU & A/D card mounted on UMAC rack. I need help to make a closedloop for the PZT actuator with integrated strain gauge sensor. The sensor output is 0-10V. We shall use the Amplifier 3 for the PZT input and we need to use the A/D card for the feedback. We already have 2 axes configured on to the axis card. 1)How to make closedloop with strain gauge analogue feedback? 2) How to define/assign an axis name say (A-axis) to the amplifier 3 3) How to add this axis with the existing 2-axes? Eg: G01 X10 Y10 A10 (mm, mm, microns) …

I have the following rack system Slot 1 Turbo PMAC CPU Slot 2 ACC-5E Slot 3 ACC-24E2A (4-axis) Slot 4 ACC-24E2A (4-axis) My system will have 3 "remote" Macro servo axes and 8 "local" stepper axis. What I mean by local is that the steppers are controlled by the ACC-24E2A card NOT controlled over MACRO. I have successfully setup either: -All 8 Axes of stepper motion while removing the ACC-5E or -All 3 Axes of servo motion while removing the 2 ACC-24E2A cards When i plug all cards in i will see the encoder positions of the MACRO servo change if i turn the shafts, however if i try to command a move (i.e. "#1j=0") i get the error message: "Atte…

I have an ACC-5E that was working fine with a Power PMAC but when i try to use it with a Turbo PMAC it does not accept configuration. Specifically when using the card in a rack system with a Trubo PMAC i cannot set any of the MACRO variables, for example: I6800=6527 I6802=3 I6840=$4030 I6890=$90 etc... When setting a value to these variables they simply return to a value of zero. Any idea why this would be the case? is there a difference between the Power PMAC card vs the Turbo PMAC card? Are there jumpers that need to be changed Any Ideas or suggestions would be appreciated Thanks

Does clipper card support interrupt functions? this question confused me for some time. I seek answers from product materials, want to make it clear about interrupt function. information come from said 'Interrupts are provided for all Windows 95/98 and NT OS'. seems that all PMAC support this function? but in 'Using the PMAC2 to interrupt the host computer',it tells PC version of the PMAC2 have a built-in programmable interrupt controller that can be used to let PMAC2 interrupt the host computer over the PC bus (I'm not very clear about meaning of PC version), and Turbo PMAC Clipper hardware reference manual doesn't talk about this topic. So I have no idea about it up…

I build up Modbus TCPIP communication with UMAC successfully, for the coil and discrete read/write , it is worked normally. and for the registers read/write, it seems that only 16-bit registers can worked normally. because of bit 16 to 23 for X:memory and Y:memory are not used, if I define a register which bits is larger than 23 bits, the data received is wrong. and if I define a register which is a float type value, It can't receive data. M2040->L:$107A4 //pointer to 48 bits value. M2041->F:$107A5 //pointer to float type value. so is there any solutions to avoid this issue? read/write values which bits is larger than 23 bits, and read/write fl…

HI there we replaced new GEO brick controller and trying to setup the IP address as procedure that downloaded from previous Q&A . however the procedure did not work this time and pop up an message tells "cannot write to EEPROM ." while pressing the boot sw and store IP Is this something wrong with the controller ? or EEPROM write protect are enabled somehow ?

Having an identical problem to the OP in this thread: http://forums.deltatau.com/showthread.php?tid=956 I'm seeing the following error message, before communications to PMAC Clipper (not Power Clipper) are severed. PMAC TCP/IP The vital circuit was reset by the remote side. Close all connections to PMAC including PMACServer then replug This is happening pretty regularly to one machine, but I've seen the error on rare occasions on other machines. I've tried 3 different Ethernet cables, and a USB-Ethernet adapter in addition to the motherboard's onboard Ethernet port, so I'm fairly confident the physical connection isn't the problem. The watchdog light is n…

Dear all, I am trying to develop my own application to control a Turbo Pmac device with Labview 2013. I am using a Windows 10 (home edition) 64 bits PC. I am having troubles in communicating with the device, I can connect with the Turbo Pmac via PWin32 Pro (USB Communication), but with the Labview Vis I cannot connect. Has anyone tested Lavbview 2013?. I will be very thankful of any help

We are using Pewin32PRO2 under Windows 7. In expected term to change to Windows 10 soon, I tryed to run Pewin32PRO Ver. 4.4.0.0 under Windows 10. There I was able to change user rights to all users (not only with admin rights) in the registries but have seen no effect. Is there any chance to get a Windows 10 running software in the future ?

Hi, I have an windows xp machine with the whole delta tau software suite. The delta tau is being controlled by a labview interface that relies heavily on VI supplied by pmac panel pro2. We are trying to move the software to win7. But when calling the panel pro2 Vi's in win7, the dll it calls seems to be missing some dependency which breaks everything. I am installing on win7 the same version of panel pro2 that ran on the XP machine. Is pmac panel pro2 able to run on Win7? Where can I get the latest release? I came across Brian's thread and his vi examples based on pcommserver seems to work on my pc. Therefore modifying the labview software to use pcommserver inste…

I used ACC-24E2S and set I7mn0 =8 to make it run in open loop, but the encoder still connected to board, so is it possible to get encoder counter to verify its position, if it is ok, which register can be read? for example ,Servo IC 2, channel 1, I try to read the value which point toM101-> X:$078201,0,24,S,it's failure.

When I point to some of downloaded motion programs from Terminal, I get the value back, as if I ask for a variable value. For example: "&1B1" returns "0" and subsequent R/S doesn't start prog. "&1B2" returns "150"... What the value it is? But "&1B5" (B6, B7 etc.) returns nothing and I can start the prog using "R" or "S" as usual. Have attached screenshots below...

I have followed all the manual information and information i could find online before posting here. I am trying to setup a Geo Macro Drive from an Ethernet Ultralite Control. I have the initial MACRO configuration up and working but cannot seem to drive the motor correctly. I am able to see my encoder counts (1000 pulse per revolution). I also have my hall effect inputs wired in (I am not sure these are in the correct order as they are not labeled but i do see them change when manually moving the motor). I figured once i was able to have the motor running I could plot the hall inputs and figure out which is which. The motors are only 24 volt 3 phase BLDC Nema 24 typ…

I’m using 24E2S to output PFM signal to control stepper motor,I don't need encoder, so I connected the controller to driver then the step motor.I attach my setup below. Now I can only make the motor run use open loop mode. But the question is I want to run some motion program,so it should be run under close loop mode,I tried #n J+, #n J/,#n J=100,I monitor motor[x].status[0],It change from $30004000 to $30007800,but there are no PFM signal output(I monitor it from oscilloscope).Do I need more setup?I have been stuck in this for quite a long time, hopefully I can get some answer. Motor[1].ServoCtrl=1 Motor[2].ServoCtrl=1 Motor[3].ServoCtrl=1 Motor[4].ServoCtrl=…

Hello, PMAC Experts! How do I tune a pulse-and-direction stepper motor in closed-loop mode? I'm asking in general, but in case it's relevant, my controller is a Turbo PMAC2 VME Ultralite, my motor driver is a Phytron ZMX+, and my encoder is a linear encoder. On page 84 of the Turbo PMAC User Manual in the "Setting Up Turbo PMAC2 for Pulse-and-Direction Control" section, it says, "If using real feedback sensors, the motor should be tuned as a normal servo motor would be tuned." However, my experience has been that this is not entirely true. The method I have followed involves using the PMAC Tuning Pro2 application to do interactive tuning with two trajectories…

Is the Geo MACRO Drive capable of driving a two phase stepper motor? My reading of the user manual suggests not, but I wanted to get confirmation of this. We have a stepper motor that is larger than can be driven by our GeoBrick-LVs, and we are not able to use the step/direction outputs from the GeoBrick as we are using absolute encoders on all channels.

Hi I do have a toolpath points data that generated from multibody dynamics application. These points have a specific coordinating system and dynamic data such as X, Z Coordination data, Spindle angular velocity, acceleration, velocity and time. These points are part of free-form surfaces that need to be machined using Diamond Turning with delta tau controller. I came across the fabrication point of view and found that PVT mode is suitable for this purpose as it can manipulate a non-linear (arbitrary) trajectory for precision machining. How can I write a program in PVT mode based on these data? I do not require to include the motion equations in the programming. …

When previous technician said that Delta Tau (Umac Turbo) were going crazy in the past. I did not believe them. But now it happened to me twice in a row for different machine. (The other instance, I will post on another thread). Machine is running since for so long now (5 years). We have 3 cfg backup made through out these years. Yesterday, we decided to edit 6 lines of codes. For example M4017=1 to M4017=0. When I did a restore of the edited cfg, the machine did not run. I found that this is because IF(M4420=1) - M4420 must be equal to 1 for the machine to run. So using text editor, I find all for M4420 and the result is below: Line 2941: IF(M4420=1)…

Turbo PMAC2, Geo Direct PWM, PEWin 32. I have gone thru the motor/drive setup and tuning using the utility in PEWin32 for a single axis. At the end, it had an option for copying the set-up to a second motor/axis. I wanted to test the first setup a little and did that and it is running properly. For the life of me, I cannot find a way to simply copy the same setup parameters at once to the second identical axis/drive channel. Other than going thru the iX00..99 one at a time and transferring the values to the next axis, is there a convenient way to do this? I even tried stepping thru the setup utility again but it doesn't want to let me step thru all the steps w…

THe Geo DIrect drives manual specs the three position 3phase AC in connector as the same Molex number as both of the 3 pos Motor Power out connectors. The board-mounted receptacles are clearly keyed on the AC input conn. This is how it should be to prevent accidental miss-connection. (the motor power conns should also be uniquely keyed but they are not.) Is there a proper spec for the Molex shells with correct keying? I am referencing the Geo Direct manual from the DT /Omron site. Also missing from the connector documentation in the manula is the Safety relay connector spec. Similar in size but different than the Thermal/I/O connector. THanks Curt

Deltattau Hello, support staff Thank you for your help. In the system of UMAC Turbo, there is a question about communication abnormality of ACC72E. Symptom: The LED (D2) of the ACC72E board goes out. The LED of the ACC24E2A board turns off. ※Additional Information ACC72E is a slave setting. It is connected to the PLC master unit (Mitsubishi), and the NS LED of the master unit blinks. D1-A: OFF D1-B: On D1-C: On D1-D: OFF D2-A: OFF D2-B: OFF D2-C: OFF D2-D: OFF Looking at the manual, the LED status of ACC72E is unknown abnormality, breakdown, occurrence of power failure That is the cause. Confirmation of power supply and cable length and ter…

hi all; I used spline2 mode in prog; this is my code: #define Motor11Pos P1000 #11->X; open prog 1 CLEAR I42 =0; SPLINE 2 TM20; abs; WHILE(Start_flag=1) X(Motor11Pos); ENDW close Now, the P1000 is dynamic and ruleless! so I want to limit max velocity of #11 . the parameter Ixx16 no works to limit motor velocity. how can i do to limit ? thanks .

Our software uses PCommServer to talk to the TurboPMAC card. We have noticed that since the latest Windows 10 update (Version 1709, build 16299.125) we seem to get a lot of hanging when trying to communicate with PMAC. While this is happening, PeWin also hangs. I have to kill the instance of PCommServer and pull out the USB plug to get it working again. I guess you might suggest that it is our application, but we have not seen this before the latest Windows 10 release. As an aside, we also needed to re-install the driver and insert the device when this Windows 10 version came along.
