The ability to change Ethernet settings in the Hawk MV-4000 is dependent on the UDP functionality of the unit. This is also how the unit is discovered by AutoVISION/Visionscape Frontrunner. If the unit does not seem to be saving changes to its network settings made in these programs, or is not discoverable by the software at all, please check the following items: Ensure no antivirus software is blocking the cameras UDP broadcast (this can usually be checked in the antivirus software logs) and disable if conflicts are found. More frequently troublesome software is TrendMicro, Symantec Endpoint, McAfee, and Kaspersky. Ensure no firewalls are blocking the UDP bro…

INTERNAL ONLY. DO NOT MAKE VISIBLE the mounting for the interface pcb in the handle of the Mobile Hawk can break and come loose. The symptoms include a loose cable, and a rattling sound. To test, have the customer wiggle the cable, and see if the connector moves as well.

INTERNAL ONLY. If the connector on the Mobile hawk is loose, the interface may have broken loose. Look at the Part Number label and refer to the revision. If Rev. A, the unit probably broke the interface board loose, and should be returned for repair.

Please note that we have had a rash of users complaining that MicroHAWK MV will stop receiving a sensor trigger after a certain period of time. We have traced this to the Debounce time in the camdef. The current solution for this is the give them a modified camdef that sets the Debounce time to 0. Leave the Filter time as is. If you are using AutoVISION only, you will have to edit the original camdef file. In FrontRunner, you can create a copy of the camdef with a modified name and debounce time.
