  1. Steve, thanks but I can't get the link to work. Any other way to get to the ftp site?
  2. I'm looking for the hardware manual for an Advantage 500 control panel. The ASSY number on the board is 602376-102. I've dug through some old CDs for manuals and found a 3A0-CONPAN-363 manual that is close, but not correct. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. I know this is a long shot, but can an ACC-12B be used with the Turbo on the JDISP port? The ACC-12B is an 8 digit display that was used with the SMCC to display axis position. I'm replacing an old SMCC with at UMAC Turbo and the machine has an ACC-12B and the customer likes it because the characters are large and easy to read from a distance. I read in the SMCC manual that its display port also supported the ACC-12A which the Turbo supports also. Given this, I want to know if the ACC-12B can be used with the Turbo and if so what would be the software settings.
  4. OK, I got it working. Turns out it will not work properly when powered through the short ribbon cable that comes with it. I powered it with 5V from the UMAC to its external power connector (removing the power jumper) and it works. I noticed it would not even display when I hooked it up to a non-turbo PMAC I had and it acted like it was pulling down the power supply. You do also have to set the memory location to tell it is an ACC-12C with WY:$10D0,$16. The old ACC-12C worked with the ribbon cable, it must not draw as much current as the new one.
  5. Steve, Yes I've been setting the WY:$10D0,$16 as I used to do on Turbo1 PCI boards. I have an ACC-12A that I tested and it works properly with WY:$10D0,$80 on the ACC-5E. I also have an older ACC-12C that I just tested that works properly with the setting WY:$10 D0,$16 but the new ACC-12C1 just flickers no matter what setting. Is there any difference in the ACC-12C to ACC-12C1 that would cause this problem?
  6. I tried playing with the I37 wait states and slowing down the processor even more with I52 with no luck, still flickers. I have always been able to get the Turbo PMAC1 PCI boards to work.
  7. I'm having trouble getting an ACC-12C to work with the JDISP port from an ACC-5E in a TURBO UMAC. The unit displays, but blinks. I've seen this before on setups I've done with TURBO1 PCI boards, but the problem would go away once I did writes to memory as instructed by Delta Tau as follows: WY:$10D0,$16 ; tells PMAC this is a ACC-12C WY:$10CD,$E,$13 I also had to slow down the CPU speed by setting I52 from 7 to 2. These steps don't seem to work with the UMAC. The ACC-12C manual only gives instructions for memory writes for the non-Turbo PMACS. The memory writes above were given to me years ago by someone from the help desk for the TURBO. Are there a different set of memory writes I need to do for the ACC-5E ($78400 addresses)?
  8. OK Thanks Steve, I see the Disk Image options now.
  9. Thanks Steve for the response on how to get the configuration file to download. In regards to the Backup Restore, will this work with different versions of firmware between the original machine and the clone? We tried doing this with the .tar file from the master onto a USB stick into the clone (with different firmware than the master) and it did not work.
  10. Steve, are you saying if I include the pp_save.cfg with the settings in my project then it will make the settings on the controller? I tried doing that but the settings do not take on a download and compile. If I copy the settings from the pp_save.cfg into a PLC and then run the PLC once, the settings get made. Do I need to change the compile properties of the pp_save.cfg file for it to work?
  11. I'm trying to create a backup/clone of a PPMAC Etherlite for a customer, but the backup unit has more recent firmware than the original - hence why I can't use the .tar file from the original directly. I can download the project onto the clone but I'm then missing my ECAT structure settings that were originally set using the EtherCat dialog boxes in the IDE. I notice in peeking around the files in the original's backup .tar that there is a file called pp_save.cfg that seems to have all of the data structure settings like the Sys.* and also the ECAT[0].*. My question: is the ECAT[0].* structure settings in this file all I need to replicate the EtherCat settings I setup originally using the dialog boxes and how should I best do this? Is there a file that I can include these within the project so they are downloaded with it? I should also mention that I'm setting up this clone without access to the original Etherlite and its EtherCat network that the settings were created on - if that causes any problems.
  12. I've finally gotten back to trying to get this backup unit working. Some more info: The original PPMAC that we are taking the back up from is using firmware 1.4.0.27 and the new PPMAC we are setting up as a backup uses 1.5.8.0. When trying to use the IDE software to do a restore on the newer system it fails due to the difference in firmware versions. In light of the issues we had using the USB stick backup with the Ethercat, and now not being able to put the backup on due to the different firmware versions: What is the recommended way to setup this PPMAC with version 1.5.8.0 using the backup .tar file from the PPMAC running 1.4.0.27?
  13. Thanks for the info. I think the 2 units were purchased about 4 months apart, so they might have different versions of firmware. I'll check the file issue overwriting the MAC address. If that is the problem, would the fix be to remove that file from the config directory?
  14. I'm having a problem getting the EtherCat to work after doing a restore by putting a USB stick in the PowerPMAC via the PowerPMACConfigLoad directory. The backup file was taken off of a working PowerPMAC etherlite unit and we were trying to install it in second back up etherlite unit. The first unit works fine, we are just trying to create a backup unit for our customer. Everything on the second unit seems to work except that the EtherCat no longer communicates. Is there an extra step in doing a configuration restore for the EtherCat? We were trying to catch a plane so I didn't have much time to trouble shoot this on site. Any help would be appreciated.
