jcarrasco
Hello, I want to implement a register control in a packaging machine with PMAC VMEbus controller. I would like to know if there is a special function in the PMAC programming to do it or any alternative way. Regards
steve.milici
Please describe in greater detail what you mean by “register control”?
jcarrasco
Hell Mr. Milici Usually, printing and packaging machines have to be re-registered due to stretching, slippage, or uneven spacing of the material. A registration sensor is used to capture the positon of a mark in the film, so it can be used for position control and to coordinate the separation and cutting of webs of packaing material. I was wondering if the PMAC has any function to do that. Regards
leandro.martins
Possibly you could use your "registration sensor" as a home input, depending on the electrical characteristic of your sensor. If it's similar to a limit switch, that approach could be used. Of course, it would also be possible to implement a PLC to execute the actions for that. For example, move then motors until find your mark.
DaveBarnett
Also...see the section of the User Manual titled "SYNCHRONIZING POWER PMAC TO EXTERNAL EVENTS" Several techniques are described there for doing the kind of thing you are describing.
