Omron Forums Support Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Introduction: Purpose: This Guide will walk you through the process of installing the UID Checker Software on Windows 10.Explanation: The UID Checker software was not built to run on Windows 10. When initially trying to install the software on Windows 10, the installer will throw a pop-up message that states that the software can only be installed on Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista. However, Windows 10 does have a compatibility mode feature that allows you to install software built for earlier version of Windows. This guide will show you how to install the UID Checker software on Windows 10 in compatibility mode.Supported Devices: UID-CHK003 - UID COMPLIANCE VERIFIER LDP UID-DPM002 - UID COMPLIANCE VERIFIER DPMWhat you will need: UID Checker Software Installer Windows 10 PC Instructions: 1. Download the UID Checker software. The software installer can be found on the Microscan.com website in the download section. 1.1. Go to https://www.microscan.com/en-us/support/download-center. 1.2. Scroll down the page until you get to the Other Software Section. Click on the UID Checker link to download the installer. 2. Extract the UID Checker software contents from the zip file. 2.1. Navigate to the downloaded UID Checker Software Installer zip file. 2.2. Unzip the contents from the Zip file by right clicking on the zip file and then select Extract All. 2.3. Navigate into the extracted contents folder until you see all of the install files. 3. Set the installer to run in compatibility mode 3.1. Right click on the Setup.exe file. In the context menu, click on properties. 3.2. Click on the compatibility tab. 3.3. Enable Compatibility mode by selecting the check box, “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” Then select “Windows 7” in the drop down menu. 4. Install the UID checker software. 4.1. Right click on Setup.exe file and run it as administrator. 4.2. The InstallShield Wizard click next to continue with the install. 4.3. Read the license agreement and Click, “Yes” to continue the install. 4.4. Choose the destination install location or leave it at its default location. Click next to continue the install. 4.5. Select, which components you would like to install. Then click next to continue with the install. 4.6. Select the program folder to add the program icons. Click next to continue with the install. 4.7. Select next to copy the installation files and finish the install. 4.8. The software has finished installing. Click on the Finish button the close the software installer. 5. You can now use the UID checker software by double clicking on the desktop shortcut. Quote
