Using this method, there is no guarantee that the command actually reaches the camera. In fact, the data may be blocked by any firewall. If however, you use telnet to connect to the camera you are establishing a host-to-host connection. With a host-to-host connection, you are guaranteed to be communicating with the camera. This method is sure to set the parameters on the camera. See the attached PDF document for further instructions.
