Geo Drive Direct PWM - No Motor Movement

Recommended Posts

Backplane HW:

  1. ACC-E1 Power Supply
  2. 3x0-603766 Turbo PMAC2 CPU
  3. ACC-24E2 4 axis Interface

External HW:

  1. Geo Drive Direct PWM
  2. MCG Motor
    1. PN 3483-ME3921
    2. 4 A Continuous Current
    3. 8 poles
    4. 1.6 ohms pase to phase
    5. 36 V nominal

Drive thermals are disabled via jumpers

Encoder from moter is utilizing A, B & C and U, V & W.  Have that connector wired to 12 Pin to ACC-24E2

Manual says I can use 110 VAC input to Geo Drive which I have.

Motor has worked on several Geo drives and I have 3 of them and all have same problem.

Followed manuals cover to cover.  This setup should work but I'm getting Fault code 2 on the single axis I'm testing which is Over Current.

Question's :

  1. Can I get PN and quote for 36 pin mating connector from ACC-24E2 to the Geo Drive Direct PWM ?
  2. Can I get PN and quote for 15-Pin Female D-Shell to 12 Pin Phoenix Connector for the encoder which would include the Hall effect wiring as well ?

I have followed all drawings in the manuals and, yet again, failure mode !!

We would need more details on how configuration was achieved to better comment, but if this motor and feedback worked on other Geo Direct PWM drives It could be that the three drives with the over current issue may have compromised electronics in the current feedback circuits and will require repair.

You will need to provide “from” and “to” details on the “15-Pin Female D-Shell to 12 Pin Phoenix Connector” as there is no Omron part that fits this description.

Here are the order PNs with list prices for compatible Geo Direct PWM to ACC-24E2 cables:
36in CK3WCAAD009A $382.00
72in CK3WCAAD018A $409.00
144in CK3WCAAD036A $488.00

Contact your local Omron distributor for a price and delivery quote.
