I did multiple factory resets before. In the beginning when I was hoping there is already a valid configuration on the Brick and each time I started a new Project on a new IDE version. I'm not sure what is different this time, maybe I resetted it the first time from the "US" PC. But, now I can add motors and edit the settings in the motor setup without any error so far. Thanks for your help.

Attached you can find the screenshot of the setting. And again, no errors while installation (v.4.6.3.6). Starting the IDE -> New Project using the Wizard for a PowerBrick LV 8 Axis -> adding any motor leads to the usual error. I can change other settings on the PBrick like clock settings etc., but I can't edit or add a motor when connected (it generates the .motor file, but can't open the setup or sync them from the PPMac to the project). I can enter the motor settings when disconnected. Reconnecting leads to an IDE crash with the huge notification shown in a previous post. I can provide remote access to the PC. Could you provide a project for a PowerBrick LV 8 Axis, which contains any motor configuration to test if these could work? Is there a way it is not a problem of the PC/IDE but the PPmac?

I can do, but this PC is not part of our IT, it was never in out IT network and I was setting it up. I'm the admin and the only admin. The PBrick was connected directly.

Yes, I installed the IDE with admin rights by selecting "Run as administrator" at the setup.exe from the right button drop down menu. I also already installed the IDE by running an terminal as admin (also here using the run as admin on the command prompt) and than executing the .msi, in case the msi does more then starting the setup. Always same results.

Thanks for the suggestions. Motor1.msetup I can see nothing wrong with it. I can not open the motor setup window, due to the error while the PBrickLV is connected. I attached the motor setup when disconnected. I also added the troubleshooter errors and warnings. These screenshots were made with IDE 4.6.3.6. I set up a completely new PC(Win11) everything set US like (Keyboard, language, home, etc.). I was directly connected to the PBrickLV, so no network based blocking. The firewalls are disabled. I installed everything as admin. I got installation errors the first time (before my first post), when I tried to install it without, as it could not write the global variables. I am the only admin on that PC. There where no errors while installation. I executed the IDE with admin rights. When I reconnect to the PBrickLV while in the motor setup, I get the a very large error notification. I as not able to copy the text, so I attached it as picture. I hope you can read it, it seems to be scaled down.

I'm sorry that was not the solution. I was so excited that it was working now, but it seemed it was just, that the powerBrick was not connected. When the powerBrick is not connected I can open the configuration, but as soon it connects back the IDE crashes. I now setted up a complete new PC. This PC I set up with Win11 and every setting to US, to be sure it is not the dot comma issue. Still the same error. Does anyone have an idea what else I could test, or where I could find a more detailed error report?

So I solved it. I was in the beginning thinking it could be a decimal european vs us standard problem (' . ' vs ' , '). I was running it on a PC set up in us english and it was just using . and no , so I assumed that would not be the problem. But the keyboard was still set for QWERTZ. Changing it to QWERTY solved it.

And if I try to open the motor setup the error "One of the identified items was in an invalid format" apears. Yes it is a stepper motor, an oriental VEXTA - PK268-E2.0B. I added it in the motor definitions, found in Power Pmac - Part Managers. I did follow the manual, that is why I started with the system setup. This I can open in this nice view, where I can change the clock settings etc. Afterwards the manual wants me to change the motor settings, which I can not open due to that error. You wrote I have to add the correct database file in the system setup. Can you please explain that further. I might have missed something. The hardware part is detected automatically. I attached a screenshot where I first opened the system-CPU-System and than tried to open the system-Motors-Motor1 file, which was created by adding a Motor "direct microstepping (No Feedback)". The file, when I open it with an external tool does not look corrupted. I'm very thankfull for any idea.

Hi, we have an PowerBrickLV - ARM 8 axis which I would liek to configure. I'm able to connect and to edit network settings as basic system settings via the system nodes in the IDE (clock settings etc). After that I was checking the hardware it found and there are two ACC-84B and two Power Brick, one for four axis I guess. Next I like to add a motor. That kind of works, so I choose a topology. I tried them all, in my case direct microstepping (No Feedback) is what I would like to have. And than it can't open the motor nodes. It throws the error "One of the identified items was in an invalid format.". I tried different versions of the IDE, currently I'm running the 4.6.0.14 and different PCs with different OS. So same on Win10 and Win11. Do you have any idea what went wrong? Maybe I did something wrong. I also tried starting with a new empty project, the project wizard and with opening the project from the power brick.
