1.
Erik, The July 2010 release of the software doesn't support ACC-24E3 and it only supports ACC-24E2 and ACC-24E2A. Our next release will support both. Regards,
Hi Sina, Thanks for the reply. I am a little confused. We used the July 2010 SW release with an update provided by Atul in early November when I was at our facility in New Mexico. You helped us over the phone and in the end we were able to run through all the tests in the motor setup, both manual and automatic (we did have to manually change Acc24E3[0].Chan[0].EncCtrl from 7 to 3). I am using the same DT HW and motor, but with a new SW install on a different CPU host. Why am I not able to repeat what we did? Thanks, Erik
 2. I am trying to set up a Kollmorgen AKM11C motor with a PPMAC/ACC-24E3/U042. I can do it manually, but when I try to use Tools->MotorSetup I get the following error: 12/8/2010 :3:17 PM - 192.168.0.200, Module - Global Clock : Master Gate Not Found 12/8/2010 :3:17 PM - 192.168.0.200, Module - Global Clock : Can Not CalculateServoPeriod! No MasterGate All my PMAC components are new and I am running with the latest firmware (1.2.1.5). Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Erik
 3.
Question: I am having trouble getting the PPMAC IDE to run. I am getting the following pop-up message when I start the IDE (see below). Any help you can give me is appreciated. I am using Win7 Pro running in a VMWare Virtual Machine on a Linux workstation. All my other Win7 apps run fine. Any help you can give me is appreciated. I am basically stuck until I can get this to work. Solution: Unfortunately in Windows Vista and Windows 7 you must run the IDE as an administrator. If the customer didn't run the IDE as an administrator for the first time, they have to uninstall the IDE and reinstall it since there are special procedures that get executed only on initial run. So here are the things I would suggest for the user to follow: 1. Run the IDE as an administrator (right click on the IDE icon and select run as an administrator, or go to properties and under compatibility tab, select run as an administrator) 2. If step 1 didn't help, Uninstall the IDE and restart the computer. 3. Reinstall the IDE. 4. Before running the IDE for the first time after reinstall, right click on the IDE icon and select properties. 5. Under compatibility tab select "Run as an Administrator" and click OK. 6. Run the IDE.
What you describe above is exactly the problem. The initial execution of the IDE was not as admin. I removed and reinstalled, started as admin, and everything runs fine.

This particular cable is straight through, not a crossover. Evidently one of the two sides or both can auto negotiate and account for the cable. In the end I get the same results: I can ping but I cannot telnet or ssh into the PPMAC. Thanks, Erik
Is there a way to use USB or RS-232 to get a console connection into the PPMAC so we can see what is going on?
Hi Brad, I just power cycled the PPMAC and now I can get in just fine. Sorry for the bother -- I should have tried that before calling for help. Thanks for your replies. Erik

 8.
Have you ever been able to Telnet to this PPmac? Are you on a network or a point to point connection?
Yes, we originally used it a few weeks ago from a laptop running win7. Both Atul and Sina helped us get the PPMAC IDE running and we were able to talk to it and eventually tune a motor. I am now using a different host CPU. a Linux box. I am using VMWare to run Win7 and have the PPMAC IDE running on that. I can ping from both Linux and Win7 to reach the board, but cannot telnet in. The connection is point-to-point using a cat 5 crossover cable. The IP address of the network interface on the host side is 192.168.0.100.
 9. Hi, I am unable to telnet into my PPMAC host -- I get a connection refused error. PPMAC board is set to default IP address of 192.168.0.200. I can reach it via ping, so I am confused as to what is wrong. Please see output below. I am running under linux from the command line. The IP addtress of the linux host is 192.168.0.100 and I have a direct connection using a crossover cable to the PPMAC board. The connection refused response comes back immediately, there is no delay. Any help you can give me is appreciated.
