  1. Thanks everyone for your replies. Changing Ixx70 from 1 to -1 as per Sina's response had the effect I wanted. Sina, I have a question regarding your recommended setting for Ixx71, but I will raise that in a separate forum post.
  2. Sorry, I'll give a little more detail. At the moment, when I issue a "O1" command to give 1% output to the motor, it spins clockwise. What I want to have happen is for the motor to spin anti-clockwise with the "O1" command. I realise I could swap the phases, but I'd prefer to do this in configuration rather than changing the wiring.
  3. Can you please describe how to change the direction of a direct microstepping motor in a GeoBrick LV? This motor has no encoder, so is using the standard ECT setup for a direct microstepping motor.
  4. Is it possible to use a GeoBrick LV to drive a five phase stepper motor? If so, do you have any details on how to configure the controller for this type of motor?
  5. Hi Sina, Thanks. Increasing the voltage to 5 V has fixed the problem.
  6. Thanks Sina. I've done this, but I'm still not seeing the encoder counts at all. The signalling level from the encoder is LVTTL, and I'm seeing approximately 3.2 V amplitude on the square wave from the encoder when I look at it on a scope. Is this likely to work, or do I need to add some circuitry to bring the voltage up to 5 V?
  7. I wish to connect a single-ended encoder signal to a Brick Controller. Documentation in the Turbo PMAC User Manual (p 49) suggests that single-ended encoder signals are acceptable, but the Brick Controller HRM (p9) says that only differential quadrature signals can be used. Can you please clarify whether the Brick Controller can accept a single-ended encoder signal?
  8. I want to drive an OMS MD125 motor drive using the step/direction signal from a Brick Controller. The MD125 has one connection for the step signal and one for direction. Both of these expect that the motor controller sinks the current. There is a single separate +5 VDC connection for the supply to the optos in the MD125. What is the recommended way to interface this type of drive to a Brick Controller?
  9. Thanks Sina, Unit101, That's fixed my problem. I was already running as an administrator. Disabling the User Access Control sorted out the access problem from PEWIN32PRO2 to the PMAC. Thanks again, Wayne
  10. I am attempting to communicate to a GeoBrick LV via the USB interface from within a virtual machine. I am able to connect successfully when I run the GeoBrick LV Setup program, but when I go through a similar process in the PeWin32Pro2 Executive Suite, I am not able to connect to the device. In more detail, when I launch PeWin32Pro2, configured to ask me which PMAC to connect to, I get the normal PMAC Devices dialog box [attachment=1418:name] click on the Insert... button, and I get the dialog shown below. [attachment=1417:name] When I then select OK, I get returned to the PMAC Devices dialog box with no indication that the device has attached. I have tried selecting other PMAC numbers (e.g. PMAC 00, PMAC 01, PMAC 02 etc) with no success. I do not get any error message or other indication of failure. When I run the GeoBrickLVSetup application and go through the same process as above, I get the dialog boxes exactly as shown in the above screenshots, but when I select OK, I get the PMAC showing up as correctly connected. [attachment=1419:name] My configuration is as follows: Hardware: Macbook Pro late 2010 Host OS: Mac OS-X 10.6.5 VM: Virtual Box 3.2.12 Guest OS: Windows 7 Professional PComm Version: 4.2.11.0 PeWin32Pro2 Version: 4.2.11.0 Note that at this stage, I am running the trial version (unlicensed) of PeWin32Pro2. It appears that there is some difference in the way PeWin32Pro Executive Suite and the GeoBrickLVSetup software applications handle the connection to the PMAC. I would appreciate any advice on what I might be doing wrong, or other things that I can test. Thanks, Wayne
