faitjx Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 When installing the PCOMM32 Library or executables that use it on Windows 7, you will run into the problem of not being able to insert new PMAC devices in the Select Devices dialog. This is true of all of the programs in the 4.3.2.0 version of the software, and in prior versions, as well. The easiest workaround that will not have your local sysadmin yelling at you is to configure the program to run in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. This does not require extended privileges at the system level or running the program as administrator, both of which can be a problem in locations ruled by security freaks as sysadmins. To configure the compatability mode, right click on the icon used to start PEWIN32Pro2, select properties from the popup, and then click the compatibility tab. Select the checkbox in the Compatibility mode box, and then select Windows XP (Service Pack 3) in the dropdown menu.
steve.milici Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 You will also need to "Run as Administrator" by right mouse click. The advanced properties dialog on the icon can be set to always "Run as Administrator".
