cdesilva
Hi All I am seeing a *Phasing error* every time I reset the PMAC. It goes away when I phase each motor. However this is the first time I am experiencing such a behavior and would like to know; 1. What could be the cause? 2. How to resolve this behavior? Thanks Chanaka De Silva NSLSII BNL
curtwilson
There is nothing to resolve. For a synchronous motor commutated by Turbo PMAC, unless or until the motor has been phased successfully, we do not permit closed loop operation. Without proper phasing, it is possible to get a dangerous runaway condition. This status is shown by a true "phasing error" status bit, which is automatically set for such a motor at power-on/reset. This has been so for Turbo PMAC ever since its introduction almost 20 years ago.
