Unified fix for image artifacts and “Camera resetting” errors in some LVS-95XX installations

Recommended Posts

This technical note intends to provide a single resolution path for those
experiencing the issues discussed; it is ONLY for those users experiencing any of
these issues.
Previous technical notes have documented two separate but related camera
issues on a limited number of installations of the LVS-95XX-series barcode
verifiers and accompanying software. The first is a “Camera resetting” error
message that is accompanied by the camera image alternating between pure
white and pure black without input from the user. The second is the presence of
varying amounts of image “artifacts” or streaks being displayed in both the live
video feed (when positioning the verifier) and the fixed, graded image, which can
affect grading. While this fix was initially intended to resolve the image artifact
issue, it has been shown generally to be equally effective for the “Camera
resetting” error.
NOTE: The PCI chipset on the PC can be a contributing factor, specifically if the
Intel 300-series chipset is present, though this is not a universal cause.
