If the camera is a Basler camera, this is a known issue resolved by replacement of the power supply with a Basler power supply. Basler 2000031201, Power Supply, 12V DC/HRS 6-pin, for all 6-pin Basler GigE cameras can be purchased through https://graftek.biz/. If this is through a camera other than Basler, it more likely to be a cabling issue, or power surge. New Camera Link cables are suggested if there is no known power surge / brown-outs. The target is to have a periodic backup of the database, and the backup routine is already installed on the remote server.

The LVS-95XX software supports printing functions in several areas, but the software itself does not let you choose a destination printer. Rather, the LVS-95XX uses the default Windows printer. Supported Devices: · All LVS-95XX devices utilizing LVS-95XX software. Instructions: 1. Before selecting the desired Windows default printer, ensure the LVS-95XX software is closed since any changes made won’t take effect until the software is restarted. 2. In Windows, navigate to the “Control Panel” > “Devices and Printers”. 3. Locate the printer to be the Windows default, right-click on its icon, then in t…

On rare occasions, the error below may appear when using an LVS-95XX-series barcode verifier: “Warning: A camera contains a non-numeric serial number and cannot be accessed”. A similar and related error message may appear which includes the phrase “DEADBEEF”. Unlike other potential error messages that may make mention of the verifier’s serial number, both of these error messages indicate an unrecoverable camera hardware failure. If you encounter either of these errors, please contact OMRON Technical Support through a channel below to explore possible factory repair options or to be put in touch with a sales representative for a quote to purchase a replacem…

This error message indicates that the .mdb file has reached or surpassed the 2GB size limit (dictated by the MS Access size limit). The resolution for this is to first run C:\Program Files (x86)\\Microscan\LVS-95XX\CompactLvsDb.exe to compact the .mdb file below the size limit, then create a backup database using the Archive tab in LVS-95XX and then deleting a sufficient number of reports to get well under the size limit. See page 92 of the operator manual for further details on database backup. Operating System Any

This is usually caused by the customer changing settings in the INI file under [Camera]. They put Flip=1. This tried to reverse the pixel readout, but flip only ever worked for a specific camera: Dalsa P2-4x-04K40. When this setting was changed in the INI file it reversed the tap readout. This caused vertical blank lines in the image. The symptoms looked exactly like another issue that was related to a known Basler Power Supply issue. Once Flip=0 was reset, the image was fine, however the image was now mirrored. This explains why Flip= was changed to try to deal with the mirrored image. The actual fix is to rotate the camera 180. In this particular case, the entire 7000 …

Most mid and high range label design software allows for re-scaling of print templates for different dpi of printers. In that case a customer who has designed print templates for a 203 dpi printer and would like to purchase a LVS-7510 with 300 dpi printer can easily adjust their print templates for use with the LVS-7510 system. For customers using label design software that does not provide this easy re-scaling, it would be required to create new print templates. A 203 dpi version of the ZT600 series will be supported by LVS-7510 in 2018. However, it is recommended that only barcodes with x-dimensions of 15 mil or larger be used with that resolution printer to help mi…

Over the years, operational requirements of GS1 System users have influenced the dimensional specifications of GS1 System symbols, and these dimensional specifications have in turn influenced the development of scanning system optics and printing processes. The dimensional requirements for each application area defined in Section 2 of General Specifications are set out in the GS1 System Symbol Specification Tables (SSTs). In the previous version of software, there was greater symmetry in the chosen aperture. With version 15, there have been changes to the required aperture for EAN/UPC-A (Table 2 now requires a 10 mil aperture where previously it was 6 mil), GS1 Data Mat…

The LVS-9570 operator manual describes the proper technique for verifying a barcode when using LVS-9570. The unit should be pulled at a slow, steady rate toward the user in the direction toward the back of the unit (where the USB connector is located). This is in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the outside of the housing, which is used to indicate where the center of the scanning sensor is located. If the LVS-9570 is pulled too quickly across the label, then an over-speed error will be displayed in the LVS-95XX software and no grade will be provided. Barcodes of up to 305 mm (12") long can be scanned in a ladder orientation, with a maximum 137mm (5.4") …

When the LVS-95XX software starts, it tries to determine the database in use (Access, MS SQL, MySQL). It does this by creating a test table and then creating different types of data elements unique to a particular database type. This error can occur if the user name and password in the database connection string contains an expired password, in particular if this is a system that has been working and is now giving this error. They can test this with Windows ODBC admin tool by creating a connection to the database using the SQL server username and password. If the connection fails, then the issue is likely the username and password being expired. If it is successful, the…
