When the LVS-95XX software starts, it tries to determine the database in use (Access, MS SQL, MySQL). It does this by creating a test table and then creating different types of data elements unique to a particular database type. This error can occur if the user name and password in the database connection string contains an expired password, in particular if this is a system that has been working and is now giving this error. They can test this with Windows ODBC admin tool by creating a connection to the database using the SQL server username and password. If the connection fails, then the issue is likely the username and password being expired. If it is successful, the…

When resetting the password for an Operator ID account in the LVS-95XX software, it is required that you reenter the entire password, rather than simply the characters you are changing. For example, if you are changing the password from "microscan1" to "microscan3", you cannot simply delete the last digit and replace it with "3"; you actually need to delete the entire old password and retype the new password or else the change will not be accepted, producing the below error: Software Version All Operating System Windows 10;Windows 7;Windows XP

Customer wants to know the maximum number of codes that can be checked for Duplicates The 7000, 75xx software uses an access database when performing duplicate checking. The maximum size of this database is 2 GB. Record size = Data Length + 10 chars (approx) Max # records (approx) = 2,000,000,000 / Record Size INTERNAL NOTE Duplicate checking is performed by attempting to add a record for the current read string to the database. If an error occurs, then the string must already exist and this is a duplicate error.

Omron Microscan uses a process in manufacturing whereby Microscan software with a “7500 Master Verifier” checks the grading parameters for the 3 symbols which are printed on the calibration card. The software then computes the values of the parameters that are listed on the card which the operator writes onto the card along with the reference number and the 7500 Master Verifier serial number.

LVS-95xx Error message "Propeller device using COMxx which is too large" This error can happen when a PC has been connected to many different USB devices and those devices are assigned COM port #s with a higher # than 16. Therefore, the port that the 9570 is plugged into should be reassigned (in Device Manager) to a lower port # than 16, provided it does not conflict with another serial or USB device that is attached to your laptop, such as an external mouse or keyboard.

Each LVS-95xx verifier is factory calibrated and tested to the ISO 15422 specification. As part of the initial on-site installation and ongoing use it is recommended that the verifier be field calibrated at least every 30 days using the calibration card that is shipped with the unit. The calibration card is a NIST traceable card which has multiple barcodes on it as well as the values for contrast and other barcode parameters which are entered into the LVS-95xx software during the calibration process. Either the UPC-A or EAN barcode can be used during the calibration process. The card should be kept clean and in its dark sleeve, and replaced after 2 years with a new ca…

If labels are running without being verified, and the LVS-75XX system is not stopping the printer, then most likely synchronization is lost To correct the synchronization, follow these steps: 1. Select "Edit this Template" 2. Move the red sync slice to an area of the label that contains static data. It may be necessary to make the “sync width” more narrow. 3. Click the “synchronize” button and the template should now be synchronized. Software Version 5.6.x.x/ 20.2.x Operating System Any

There are a few causes for this. The USB connections to the read head and the light tower have been switched. Both USB connections should be reset by removing them from the computer, and the +5V DC should be removed from the read head so that the "sensor control board" can reset. Reconnect the +5V DC back to the read head before connecting the USB from the read head to the original position it was in when the software was first installed on the computer. The USB connections to the read head or light tower was interrupted while the software was running.a. OCR and OCV can only be performed on upper case characters in the LVS-7500/7510 software--unless the OCR-BMT fonts are being used. When a special character or lower case character is put in the "match this text" field in step 5: Setup matching, then a run time error 6 may be generated during runtime. Initially reported as a synchronization issue with re-running an existing job which had worked on previous occasions. Repeated trial of smaller & wider sync slices, as well as various positions, including slightly off web, and narrow to the point of including an area just larger than the gap between labels yielded no success. Looking at the zoom window area, horizontal lines can be seen. A Venetian blind effect. This caused enough interference in trying to sync properly, that resolving this condition resolved the sync issue. Ultimately it was found that an aging power supply was causing the light to flicker just enough for the camera to notice, but not the human e…

If no image is recorded by the LVS 7000 Put the software into calibration mode If an image is present in calibration mode skip to step 6If picture is still black check the camera link cables and power cable. The camera has a red light that indicates if it is powered. Shine a flashlight into the camera. This will help determine if the camera is miss aligned. If camera is misaligned, the light should be present in the image.Move the camera around in the mount until the image is visible. This may take moving the disc and the angle of the mounting plate. If image is present in calibration mode, but is still not present when running the press, check the encoder and ins…

If images are not being collected during normal operation, but images are updating during calibration: Use HyperTerminal to insure encoder pulses are being seen by the encoder board by sending command [l-]. A positive returned number indicates forward motion, if E0, E1 bounce is all that is seen it is running in reverse. The 7000 only collects images in forward motion. Check encoder wheel is making contact with idler. If the 7000 never captures images in operation or calibration: Test that the camera has connection/communication via manufacturer supplied GUI. If no response, test cable connections, retry.Swap Camera Link cables. Software Version All Firmwa…

Look at the linelight: Are there labels stuck to the light lens? Are there dark areas along the light array as if LEDs may be out? (Using dark sunglasses or squinting will help to identify.) Has the system been moved or camera placement altered? This can also occur is a web wrap-up occurred in the camera /light location. If so a FFC (Flat Field Correction) may be required. Depending on the press and camera mounting positioning, there is a possibility of vibration transferring from the press into the camera mount. Check the camera lens to insure it is secure.Check all mounting hardware to insure the camera mount has not shaken loose over time. The mount may feel secure, but a bolt being slightly loose is all it take to cause movement. It is best to check all connections with a wrench. If all connections are solid, try running the press at a slower or faster speed to minimize the amount of shake in the machine. The press may have a certain speed that causes resonance, and by changing the speed of the press, this can be eliminated. ` …
