Application Example-Sending an OCR string to HyperTerminal (via TCP) using the VisionMINI / VisionHAWK

Recommended Posts

1. Using AutoVISION create a vision inspection with the OCR tool. Configure the tool to properly read the code. 2. In AutoVision select the Inspection Outputs item and select the TCP/Serial Output tab. 3. Click on the String Output Port dropdown box and select TCP1. Note that the number displayed is the port number that will be used. For example TCP1 (49211) will be using port 49211. 4. Click the Value 1 field and select the OCR Read Text. 5. In AutoVISION click the Run button. 6. Start HyperTerminal and create a new connection. 7. In the Connect To window set the Connect using to TCP/IP (Winsock), set the host address to the IP address of the smart camera and set the port number to the port selected in AutoVISION. For this example port 49211 is used. Click the OK button HypetTerminal will now display the OCR read string every time that an inspection occurs.
