How To Install An LVS-9510 (or LVS-9570) & LVS-9580 On A Single PC

Under normal conditions, only one LVS-95XX-series barcode verifier model (9510/9570/9580) of each kind may be used on a single PC at one time. But it is possible for different 95XX models to be installed on a single PC, such as a 9510 and 9580 in the case of this application note. This procedure requires that you log in with the Password Of The Day login (PoTD), so contact Microscan prior to this procedure to obtain those credentials.

To install:
1. Using the USB drive provided with your 9510 (or 9570), install the LVS-95XX software according to the LVS-95XX Series Software Installation Guide located at the following link: http://files.microscan.com/downloadcenter/LVS-9510_User_Manuals.zip.
2. Using the USB drive provided with your 9580, run “setup.exe”, then once the drivers have been installed and you reach the prompt to install the LVS-95XX software itself, cancel the remainder of the installation (screenshots below are only to be used as a guide)




3. Plug in the power supply and USB cables for the 9510 (or 9570) FIRST.
4. Plug in the USB cable of the 9580 to the PC.
5. Start the LVS-95XX software and log in using the Password Of The Day (contact Microscan for this).
    You should now have two cameras listed in the “Setup” tab similar to the below screenshot:



7. To perform a calibration, select the 9580 in the “Setup” tab, then navigate to the Calibration tab and click “LVS Calibrate.”
8. Follow the prompts (see Step 2 of this process regarding Focus) and click “OK.”
9. Your 9580 is now calibrated and both verifiers are ready for use. Simply select the camera you want to use in the “Setup” tab whenever you need to switch.
