ericmams
@steve.milici Can Power PMAC communicate directly with Inductive Automation (Ignition)?
steve.milici
I don’t know what “Inductive Automation (Ignition)” refers to. What is it? Note that Power PMAC has a TCP/IP Ethernet port. Any device that has TCP/IP Ethernet port can communicate directly.
ericmams
Ignition is a HMI/SCADA product. Inductive Automation is the maker. They have drivers for Omron NJ and for Omron FINS. I don't know what either of those are. Thank you Steve
steve.milici
This would require SQL or OPC UA running on Power PMAC. There is currently no SQL package offered for Power PMAC. There is development for OPC UA software for Power PMAC but not yet released. FINS is a security protocol. This is also under development. steve.milici
Note that “NJ” refers to one of the Omron PLC controllers. They have both FINS and OPC UA.
Sanjay_RSS
I believe Ignition has drivers for Modbus TCP which can be an easy way to interface with PowerPMAC. https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC81/Modbus The PowerPMAC docs are under the sample project PowerPMACModbusExample installed by the IDE Edited January 19 by Sanjay_RSS
