bradp Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Could you supply the voltage input specifications for the CPU fan? In the above document you connect GND to +5V and Power to +15V. This means the fan is a 10V fan or a 12V fan?

My guess is that with the available power, running it 2 volts under was preferable to running it 3 volts over the rated voltage.
curtwilson Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Jeff - Your surmise is correct that we are running a 12V fan off of a 10V net supply because that is what is available. There is not good availability of 15V fans, and running a 12V fan at 15V could lead to early failure.
