steve.milici Posted March 21, 2016 Share Posted March 21, 2016 This can be done although you need one of the more recent versions of the IDE which allows the password to be changed in the IDE from the factory default. Note this is a Linux feature. This is done with the "passwd" command from the Linux prompt. Please refer to Linux documentation for details. Do you mean I can change password by typing the new password in the "Password" space,and Connect directly,and then the new password will be auto changed? steve.milici Posted March 25, 2016 Share Posted March 25, 2016 No, this is not the case. Please note that the IDE currently does not support changing the Linux root user password. This is not a Power PMAC task; it is purely a Linux file system mechanism. The IDE only allows you to enter a different password other than the default of “deltatau” to log on but it does not make any of the required changes to the Linux file system. If you are conversant in Linux our Technical Support Group (support@deltatau.com) may be able to guide you to the proper Linux documentation to achieve this.
