  7. In September 2008, Microscan acquired the Siemens Machine Vision group, which through the mergers over the years can be traced back to Itran. Itran is the company developed the MVP 2000T (I-Pak Classic) vision system. In 1999, RVSI Acuity CiMatrix notified all registered I-Pak Classic customers that product support could only be guaranteed through December 2000. At this point Microscan does not provide support for the I-Pak Classic vision system. Microscan has expanded on the capabilities of the I-Pak Classic vision system over several generations of product and currently offers the Visionscape I-Pak vision system to meet the pharmaceutical packaging inspection requirements. More information on this product can be found on the Microscan website at: http://www.microscan.com/en-us/Products/Engineered-Solutions/I-PAK-Package-Inspection-System.aspx This web page provides a brief overview of the Visionscape I-Pak models that are currently offered and provides a link to the current I-Pak spec sheet.
  8. The attached document provides instructions for the user to switch to different firmware on the MicroHAWK camera. This functionality will require the dual boot license on the camera, in addition to the ID and machine vision licenses. kA23800000007uICAQ_en_US_1.docx

  10. The Area Arrays with diffusers are no longer available. This is because they were replaced by the Backlight BL series, which will provide more even illumination. To replace the Diffused AR currently used, select the backlight with the same color and similar size, when compared to the AR model.
  11. Here is the procedure to reset the Ethernet card: Note: Restoring the Ethernet card to its factory default settings will clear all current settings except the IP address settings and the administrator password. 1. Power off the scanner. 2. Separate the MS-890 from the wiring box using the four screws in the corners. 3. Locate the reset switch between P3 and CR1 on the Ethernet card. 3. Power on the scanner while holding the reset switch down. (Hold it down for about 20 seconds.)

  14. A common request is to convert RS-232 serial data to USB HID Keyboard input. The attached spec sheet is for an adapter that seems to work well as a USB Keyboard input device. The DB-9 connector will plug into any Microscan RS-232 Host cable with DB-9 termination. When using the keyboard interface, keep in mind: - All data coming from the device will be typed into any active window. this interface should not be used in automated applications. - keyboard throughput is slower than other interfaces, so it should not be used in high speed applications. kA23800000008J0CAI_en_US_1.pdf

  18. The LVS-9570 operator manual describes the proper technique for verifying a barcode when using LVS-9570. The unit should be pulled at a slow, steady rate toward the user in the direction toward the back of the unit (where the USB connector is located). This is in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the outside of the housing, which is used to indicate where the center of the scanning sensor is located. If the LVS-9570 is pulled too quickly across the label, then an over-speed error will be displayed in the LVS-95XX software and no grade will be provided. Barcodes of up to 305 mm (12") long can be scanned in a ladder orientation, with a maximum 137mm (5.4") maximum barcode height. Operating System Windows 10;Windows 7

  22. The attached file will show a simplified schematic of the input circuit to the QX-870. This diagram will show the electrical connections of Trigger, New Master, and Input 1 on connectors A, B and T. The diagram also shows the Standard trigger sensors (99-000020-xx, 99-000017-xx) wired into the circuit. The intent of this diagram is to help you understand how to wire the inputs for your application. Pay special attention to the wiring of the trigger, Notice that the Input Common line is toggled to control the read cycle. This is necessary in order for the QX-870 to pass the signal to other readers through connectors A and B. When the circuit is wired in this fashion, the New Master pin and Input 1 can not be used. To use The New Master pin, or to use input 1, you must re-wire the trigger sensor so that Input common is tied to Power, and the NPN trigger signal feeds into the Trigger2 line. When wired in the fashion, the trigger signal will not feed to other readers through connectors A and B. Common problems when wired incorrectly: Using the New Master pin triggers the reader Two readers triggered by one sensor when the trigger lines are not connected (the input common line may be tied together to cause this). Trigger input does not work. New Master pin does not work. New Master pin operation is intermittent.

Otherwise the camera may not respond to triggers properly. Connect to the Primary unit again and change Read Cycle > Trigger = External Edge Send and Save to camera (<Z>) When the <K150DAISY> is executed, the trigger mode on the secondary camera change to match the primary. By executing the <K150DAISY> when the trigger = Serial Data, the secondary units will only respond to a serial trigger to start the read cycle. If the primary camera has the trigger = External Edge, then after the <K150DAISY> all of the secondary cameras will be responding to the external trigger as well. This did appear to work in the limited testing in the office. MD – 2017-02-07 Operating System Any
  25. This problem typically occurs when trying to run FrontRunner or AppRunner software. An error: R6030 CRT not initialized message, which causes FrontRunner or AppRunner to immediately terminate. The source of the problem is a conflict with a National Instruments software component that is installed on the computer. The offending component is often located in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\mDNSResponder\nimdnsNSP.dll renaming this from .dll to .sav corrects the problem with Visionscape software and allows FrontRunner or AppRunner to start properly.
