  1. This document will help to try and re-establish communications after losing connection kA23800000008DZCAY_en_US_1.doc
  2. To request the firmware version without connecting to ESP. kA23800000008ICCAY_en_US_1.pdf
  3. When I try to add a postamble CR (page 4-8) what happens is a musical note symbol is added instead. the "space" and "comma" functions work. It looks like you are attempting to use the CR character while in Keyboard mode (USB or PS/2). The CR character is an ASCII value, and will translate to the music note character of the OEM keyboard code page. You will want to use the Enter Postamble setting, which is shown on page 4-21 of the User’s Manual. The proraming symbol is attached.
  4. Need to create a Quick connect code for Bluetooth MS-Q to a Non-Microscan Modem. kA23800000008InCAI_en_US_1.pdf
  5. The attached drivers are used to setup the USB communication for programming the MS-Connect 5100. kA23800000008ELCAY_en_US_1.zip
  6. There is a bug in the firmware that will prevent transmission of commands sent to the scanner from the Ethernet side when Connect Mode is set to Active. The only way around this is to change the firmware in the gateway back to the Lantronix X3 firmware. The attached zip file contains all files and the instructions on how to change the firmware. Notes: Loading this firmware will remove Grid Connect firmware and Ethernet/IP. Once changed, the Grid Connect firmware can not be re-loaded. kA238000000086rCAA_en_US_1.zip
  7. Because of the grounding differences between the MS-Connect 210 and the QX-870, you will meed to make a PNP connection to the scanners trigger port. Note: Use a PNP photo sensor when the QX-870 is connected to the MS-Connect 210.
  8. Connect to the ESP software. Enable Code 39 and send and save to reader. Place 7.5 mil barcode at 10 inches away from reader. Go into the Terminal window and type <K28UNLK,,1> into the terminal’s ‘Send’ bar. When you see:"Focus Setup: Place a .075 label @ 10in. Hit return when ready" come up, hit ENTER. Use the + to focus out and – to focus in. Zero Focus position = nnn 90% 7.5MIL, where nnn = 0 to 255 (the current focus position) When you achieve the high read rate (90% or better), Hit ENTER. The reader will show “Focus Setup Passed” To save the new Zero Focus, type <Zp> in the terminal screen.
  9. If Windows XP Service Pack 2 has been installed on a system, it will enable a firewall to any Ethernet ports available. The firewall will block the connection
  10. If you are able to connect to the scanner's IP address, but the commands are not accepted, and there is faulty communications, the Ethernet card may need to be programmed. The Ethernet card installed in the MS-880/890 is a serial to Ethernet gateway. The Serial side of the card connects to the RS-232 Host port of the scanner. For proper communications, the RS-232 Host port of the scanner must match the RS-232 port of the Ethernet card. This procedure will explain how to do this. Connect ESP to the MS-880 via serial, and receive the scanner settings. Under the communications tab of the Parameters view, record the Host Port settings for Baud Rate, Data Bits, Parity and Stop bits. Now, enter the embedded HTTP configuration of the Ethernet card 1. Open a web browser and enter the card’s IP address in the URL window. 2. When the card prompts you to log in, enter the following: - User Name is root - The root default password is dbps Change the Serial port settings of the card: 1. Click on the Serial Port link on the left. 2. Set the settings to match the port settings you recorded earlier. 3. Click Apply, and wait for the card to reboot (up to 20 seconds)
  11. If multiple Quadrus-Mini's or MS-4's are connected to the USB port, they can all be assigned their own virtual com port. The com port number can be changed if required. Insert all the scanners in the USB port and run the tool once or insert one scanner at a time and run the tool multiple times to install the virtual com port driver.
  12. The attached App note will explain how to connect two imagers in a cross-match setup. Cross-match will use two imagers to compare two codes. If the two codes are the same, the result is a match, if the two codes are different, then the result is mismatch. This setup will use two imagers, an MS-Connect 210, a trigger, and interface cables, along with one special built cable. kA23800000008F4CAI_en_US_1.pdf
  13. The User's Manual has a misprint. There is no option for Minimum Length in Code 93.
  14. A spec of the Exit beam tolerances for the Integral right angle MS-3 laser.
  15. The MS-3 Raster model will project 7 lines spread over a 1.5 degree arc. This means that at 4.5 inches (11.5cm) , the raster height will be 0.3" (7.5mm) from bottom line to top line. attached are some examples of the laser beam pattern at that distance.
  16. The MS-2 is not a drop in replacement. We have created this solution to show the most significant differences when discussing the MS-2 as a replacement. kA23800000008EMCAY_en_US_1.pdf

  18. The MS-2000 is a legacy product and at it's End Of Life did not have of any Electronic Documents like seen on all products today. An actual User Manual Hard Copy was supplied with the package. The later MS-3000 manual has been a recommended replacement as all the commands and setup are the same. Attached are the MS-3000 Single Head Decoder and Dual Head Decoder Manuals. kA23800000008KECAY_en_US_1.zip
  19. Use Differences from default to change a configuration file from the MS-880 to the MS-890. The attached document will explain how. kA23800000008JRCAY_en_US_1.pdf
  20. In a Visionscape GigE system the digital I/O is mapped to Virtual I/O starting with Input 1 being mapped to Virtual 161. If 16in/16out board is used, - Inputs start at Virtual 161 to 176 - Outputs start at Virtual 177 to 192 If 32in/32out board is used, - Inputs start at Virtual 161 to 192 - Outputs start at Virtual 193 to 224

  23. If you are unable to save bitmap images out of ESP while using the Mobile Hawk, update the firmware to -11 or newer. Firmware is available from the Download Center: http://www.microscan.com/en-us/ServiceAndSupport/DownloadCenter.aspx
  24. INTERNAL ONLY. DO NOT MAKE VISIBLE the mounting for the interface pcb in the handle of the Mobile Hawk can break and come loose. The symptoms include a loose cable, and a rattling sound. To test, have the customer wiggle the cable, and see if the connector moves as well.
  25. INTERNAL ONLY. If the connector on the Mobile hawk is loose, the interface may have broken loose. Look at the Part Number label and refer to the revision. If Rev. A, the unit probably broke the interface board loose, and should be returned for repair.
