We just upgraded from a Turbo Umac 5C0 cpu card to a 5C3 card (memory upgrade only). I have updated all the memory locations for the modbus and all machine functions appear to be working correctly. Upon start-up of PEWin32Pro I get a warning that says the following: "Due to Modbus activity, CommThread will not be started at this time. Unsolicited messages will not be captured properly" This goes away if I put in the 5C0 card again. I am probably missing a setting that I don't know about.

Hello, I need help to setup a modbus Geobrick. The Geobrick (master) communicates with a safety PLC (slave) The Modbus protocol says to communicate, you must configure (on the master ) the IP address, the slave number and the register number + function code (3 for Read Holding Registers or 16 for Write Multiple Registers) At PEWIN32, I do not see how to configure the slave number and register number. Can someone explain me? I see, you need to configure the "Modbus reference #", but what data should I put (N° slave + starting adresss?? Unit identifier ?)? When I use a program like "Modbus Doctor", I can read the desired value (see screenshot below). tha…

When installing the PCOMM32 Library or executables that use it on Windows 7, you will run into the problem of not being able to insert new PMAC devices in the Select Devices dialog. This is true of all of the programs in the 4.3.2.0 version of the software, and in prior versions, as well. The easiest workaround that will not have your local sysadmin yelling at you is to configure the program to run in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. This does not require extended privileges at the system level or running the program as administrator, both of which can be a problem in locations ruled by security freaks as sysadmins. To configure the compatability mode, right click o…

This is my first post to the general forum so please excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong thread. I am able to communicate with a UMAC CPU using PEWIN32 Pro2 on a laptop running WIN 8.1 except that the Terminal dialog pops up a generic error message: "Class not registered". Other dialogs such as Position, Watch, etc. work fine. I suspect that this laptop is missing some COM or the likes that is normally expected in a WIN7 OS. Any idea what might be required? Thanks, Scott

Is there a comprehensive list of the end of life for all delta tau products (and what is obsolete)? Specifically I would like to know about Turbo and its last few predecessors.

PMAC tuning pro was working correctly earlier. Now, when it tries to download the auto-generated PLC code it generates an error because it puts the string "(null)" on five lines. Here is the contents of C:\Program Files\Delta Tau\PMAC Executive Pro2 Suite\PmacTuningPro2\PositionStepTurbo#3.pmc: ;Position Step Trajectory Program For Turbo (null) (null) (null) (null) (null) M923->* M902->* M922->* M921->* M920->* M919->* M913->* M914->* M923->* M902->X:0,24 M922->X:$10F0,24 M921->X:$10F1,24 M919->X:$6,19 M913->D:$00188 M914->Y:$1c0,2,1 OPEN PLC 31 CLEAR M919=1 M913=M913+P907 M921=M902 WHILE(M902-M921ENDW M913=M913-P907 M922…

serial cable pinouts

For those who need a serial cable ( RS232 or RS485 ) connection to a pmac board of any age I have attached the pdf containing all serial cable pinouts. Note: If using the old 26 pin connector the easiest thing is to use a press on ribbon cable DB25 connector to a press on ribbon cable IDC26 connector. Cut wire 26 at the DB25. Then use a standard DB25 to DB9 adapter. If using the 10 pin connector the easiest thing is to use a press on ribbon cable DB9 connector to a press on ribbon cable IDC10 connector. Cut wire 10 at the DB9. for search compatibility - RS-232 or RS-485 serial cable.pdf

LS, Searching for information on this forum I received the following error: "Sorry, but you can only perform one search every 60 seconds. Please wait another 50 seconds before attempting to search again." Question: why is there a limit in how fast one is allowed to use this great source of information? If I get no answers to a search, I rephrase and try again... normally. regards, Meindert

Hi, According to the Quick Reference, we can define up to 255 ASCII caracters as a MACRO definition, but looks like it is 32 caracters maximum in reality. Am I something wrong? Please let me know if there is any way to expand this limitation. Thanks, Junji
