WebLink does not support mobile Safari as per PM decision. Mostly, it's a matter of not enough screen real estate to function without having a specific layout just for phones and tablets. This may very well be addressed in the next version, and for the record, we fought hard to prioritize This for the first version. If you want to use it anyway, you can bypass the supported browser check and use ?force=1 at the end of the URL. (http://ip-addr/WebLink/?force=1). Just don't report any bugs against it.

The time for a focus change on QX hawk is about 500ms. Decoding is paused during this change period to prevent misreads. When programming the read cycle and database timing, this 500ms delay should be considered.

Under certain conditions, if you wanted to use a single Ordered Output filter to identify and output a single symbol out of multiple symbols in the FOV, the MicroHAWK would only output the first symbol it decoded, even if that was not the symbol meeting the criteria set in the Ordered Output filter. For example, if a label had 4 unique Datamatrix symbols but you only wanted to output a single symbol with a unique attribute, you would enable a single Ordered Output filter with the unique criteria. The MicroHAWK would then check any symbols present in each of its captured images to see if they matched the filter until the symbol was found or it timed out. However, the beha…

The Daisy Chain cable 61-100029-xx is 1 foot long. There are two options to extend the length: 1. Build your own 3-conductor cable with a 25-pin male on one side, and a 25-pin Female on the other. the pin out is 2-2, 3-3, and 7-7. the length should not exceed 30 feet. 2. Use 61-000032-03 6-foot 25F-25M extension cable along with 61-00029. You will need to add (2) 4-40x.25" barrel nuts to attach the two cables together (not provided by Microscan). Do not use 61-000032-03 as a Daisy Chain cable without 61-100029.

When installing ESP, the user will get the error: “Cannot prepare main package. Probably corrupted package, incorrect TMP/TEMP variables or there is no execute permission for temporary folder.” This is seen when trying to install ESP on a PC running the Windows XP Embedded operating system. ESP doesn't support XP embedded, so another PC will need to be used for ESP.

Possible causes: 1. Symantec Endpoint has been known to cause this. Related article:http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/google-chrome *Note: In most cases if you follow the Symantec instructions, on preceding link, disabling the SysPlant Driver will solve this issue. If not continue to step 2. 2. mfc files need to be updated. Use the link below to run vcredist_x86.exe to install the necessary MFC files required by esp to run. This only affects clean installs of ESP, if replacing an older version, the MFC files are already installed. This will be fixed on future versions of ESP. kA23800000008EBCAY_en_US_1.zip

UID Contrsuct #2 symbols using CPN may fail when UID Checker is not configured properly. Within the UID Checker software, there is an option in the "Results Setup" that allows you to enable CPN which stands for Current Part Number of which 30P is one type. With the CPN enabled the 30P symbol should pass both parts.

The MS-3 has a direct optical collection system, that means it looks everywhere the laser can be at any time plus a few areas outside of that just due to geometry. What happened a couple years after the product release was the florescent light fixtures all started using H-Frequency. Suddenly, applications that worked just great would start to fail when the janitor came in over the weekend to swap out the light fixtures. What the MS-3 needs is some shielding from room lighting if they are HF type. The frequency that these lights put out is exactly in the sweet spot of bandwidth for reading barcodes. So it can really be an issue under the right circumstances. Always look…

The Multisymbol separator is disabled by setting the character to NULL. ESP currently does not support the NULL character, so this will need to be set by serial command. 1. Connect to your reader and receive scanner settings. 2. Enter the Terminal screen and send the command: Note: this command will enable the setting, but will not save it. 3. Enter the Parameters view, and receive scanner settings. 4. Under read cycle, verify that the Multisymbol separator is set to NULL. 5. Complete your configuration, and then Send/Save to the reader. For more information about serial commands, refer to the Product User's Manuals, located in the Microscan Download center.

The default is based upon the APIPA standard which means the host is not specified. This is in case you have multiple units on one subnet. Regardless, if the PC is on the same subnet then it will be able to communicate with the reader. If ReadRunner is up, check the Network overview to find the reader.
