This setup is very Generic and assumes you are in early setup stages with control of placement of a trigger and if possible line speed. The note shows examples and uses of some parameters to help in most moving based issues. This best case scenario has the barcode directly under the Imager, in Field Of View, when the trigger goes active. kA23800000008KOCAY_en_US_1.pdf

Every symbol decoded will run through the database. - If the symbol is in the database, it is a Match. - If the symbol is not in the database, it is a Mismatch. At the end of the read cycle, there is only ONE result, which will be (in the order of priority): - If ANY symbols are not decoded (the number of symbols required is set in the Multisymbol option, under Read Cycle), the read cycle result is Noread. - If ANY symbols do not match the database, the result is Mismatch. - If ALL symbols are decoded, and they are in the database, the result is Match. Each of the three outputs can be programmed for one of these events, and in some cases, a combination of these events. Al…

A common request is to convert RS-232 serial data to USB HID Keyboard input. The attached spec sheet is for an adapter that seems to work well as a USB Keyboard input device. The DB-9 connector will plug into any Microscan RS-232 Host cable with DB-9 termination. When using the keyboard interface, keep in mind: - All data coming from the device will be typed into any active window. this interface should not be used in automated applications. - keyboard throughput is slower than other interfaces, so it should not be used in high speed applications. kA23800000008J0CAI_en_US_1.pdf

Here is the procedure to reset the Ethernet card: Note: Restoring the Ethernet card to its factory default settings will clear all current settings except the IP address settings and the administrator password. 1. Power off the scanner. 2. Separate the MS-890 from the wiring box using the four screws in the corners. 3. Locate the reset switch between P3 and CR1 on the Ethernet card. 3. Power on the scanner while holding the reset switch down. (Hold it down for about 20 seconds.)

The attached file will show a simplified schematic of the input circuit to the QX-870. This diagram will show the electrical connections of Trigger, New Master, and Input 1 on connectors A, B and T. The diagram also shows the Standard trigger sensors (99-000020-xx, 99-000017-xx) wired into the circuit. The intent of this diagram is to help you understand how to wire the inputs for your application. Pay special attention to the wiring of the trigger, Notice that the Input Common line is toggled to control the read cycle. This is necessary in order for the QX-870 to pass the signal to other readers through connectors A and B. When the circuit is wired in this fashion, the N…

The purpose of this document is to assist the user in transitioning from the MS-820 to the QX-830. MS-820 scanners have been used in a wide variety of applications, including food packaging, electronics manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, and other industrial environments. With the introduction of the QX-830 Compact Industrial Scanner and the QX Platform, applications that have used the MS-820 have the opportunity to simplify their connectivity, enhance their decode performance, and increase their configuration flexibility by upgrading to the new system. kA23800000008FECAY_en_US_1.pdf

Notice regarding Daisy Chain Master and Serial vs. Ethernet. When building a Daisy Chain to an RS-232 Host, ALL scanners in the Daisy chain MUST be RS-232. If an Ethernet Reader is installed, the Host MUST be Ethernet. Refer to the Configuration guide for connection examples. When using the barcode programming feature within the QX products if you try to change the AIAG with a barcode it will not continue reading the rest of your programming symbols including which will save the settings. As a work around you will need to program AIAG settings within the software or with serial commands.

1. When downloading new code it does not default the reader. You need to do a after downloading new app code. 2. When installing new app code the unit must be powered off for the New App code to take effect.

There is a feature in the QXHawk that allows multiple configuration settings. (this can include focal distance) Then when the QXHawk is in a read cycle it can scroll through these settings if it does not find symbol with the one it is currently using. This feature is called Configuration Database and is fully explained in the user manual. (Chapter 4 page 4-17+) Besides that you would either have to go through a calibration routine (Chapter 7 page 7-22+) or set the focus manually by serial command. (Also in user manual)

The symptoms are that the QX Hawk Stops Communicating, The LED's keep Flashing, and it still triggers and reads. It takes a full power reset to restore communications. Possible Cause: An issue in the -15 Firmware that if you use WOI and Pre-Processing in the same read it stops communicating.
