I am attempting to communicate to a GeoBrick LV via the USB interface from within a virtual machine. I am able to connect successfully when I run the GeoBrick LV Setup program, but when I go through a similar process in the PeWin32Pro2 Executive Suite, I am not able to connect to the device. In more detail, when I launch PeWin32Pro2, configured to ask me which PMAC to connect to, I get the normal PMAC Devices dialog box click on the Insert... button, and I get the dialog shown below. When I then select OK, I get returned to the PMAC Devices dialog box with no indication that the device has attached. I have tried sel…

dear sir i am using turbo pmac-1 with 4 analog servo drives in cutting machine(mitsubishi mr-j2s-a drives) motor1-x1 motor2-x2 motor3-y motor4-c rotary axis x1 and x2 are gantry motors i am using acc-8dp for encoder wires input and analog output. what i am facing that in 1000 cycles it shows 20-30 pieces either small or big in x moving direction by +/- 1mm. i have used shielded twisted wires for encoder out from drive to acc-8dp. also used shielded twisted wires for anlog out from acc-8dp to drives. can anybody suggest what to do? also i have checked PE, i found it ok, if anybody want backup of pmac and drives i can provide it. regards raj…

Hi all I've just installed and configured a brand new UMAC on my system. The system comprehends 2 acc 24e2s (configured as IC2 and IC3) and 2 acc84e (configured as CS10 and CS12). First question is: the "Umac config pro2" does not see the two acc84e. Is this correct? Second, more important: I can not configure the endat2.2 encoders. The manual (version April 27,2010) is pretty confused and most of the tables and portions of codes have wrong addresses (it seems that the tables have been copied from the yaskawa encoder configuration and pasted without correcting the addresses). Did anyone try to configure endat2.2 encoders on such a boards and have some hints t…

Here is doc that shows a simple way to setup a Phantom motor that you can use as a Master for other motors. It does not require any real hardware since it is all virtual. This is useful for example when you need a real motor to be able to run with a motion program but also easily have it release from the CS Motion program and perhaps Jog off somewhere, and maybe later connect again with a still running CS motion program.

Does the functionality exist to select and test a PMAC device without having to display the dialog box "pmacDevice.Selectdevice". My computer will only be attached to 1 device and I don't want to require the operator to select a that device. Thanks, Islay

% Feedrate

The system I have inherited uses a % Feedrate control based on the I10 and M5198 variables (only CS1 used). As I understand it if M5198=I10 then we have 100% feedrate, for 10% feedrate we set M5198 to I10/10 etc. This works reasonably well but very occasionally M5198 appears to change by itself! This becomes a real problem when trying to stop the machine in a controlled manner, the previous application engineer decided that to do this he would call a PLC, this PLC calls a "&1 %0" command and then sits and waits for M5198 to reach 0. this can take 1-3 seconds but sometimes takes a minute or more - monitoring M5198 in the watch window shows it counting down towards zero bef…

modbus with the Adam 6000 series modules
by Guest DavisG- 0 replies

This set of directions was done for an Adam 6060 module, but in general the direction is valid for any Adam 6000 series. There were three big issues: 1) Had to upgrade to the latest version of the Advantech Adam/Apax .Net Utility 2) Had to upgrade to the latest 4.15 Adam 6060 firmware 3) They don't use the usual function code 2 to read digital inputs - have to use FC1 instead. http://support.advantech.com/support/DownloadSearchByProduct.aspx?keyword=adam%206060 Gets to the general adam 6060 stuff - use the utility and firmware tabs for downloads. If you have another 6000 series module replace the 6060 at the end of the string with the number of your module…

Hi, We want to use UMAC to operate our minimally invasive medical apparatus. There are totally 30 axes under control in our system, where 12 axes are served for two Master manipulators-the left one(6 axes) and the right one(6 axes), 14 axes are served for two Slave manipulators-the left one(7 axes) and the right one(7 axes)-each corresponding to one of the Master manipulators respectively, and the rest 4 axes are served for a video arm. A control system is needed to construct for controlling movement of arms according to user manipulation of the master manipulators. Our questions are: 1. If one UMAC turbo as a master node(connected to the master manipulators-12 axes…

Generating a custom slave motion profile after a master-slave trigger using Kinematic
by Guest majidy- 4 replies

the following document describes a custom slave motion profile when trigger happens. Master is moving with constant speed and when trigger happens slave should go through a custom motion profile to reach master velocity and position. This is equivalent to command move R in Yaskawa X Drives. A sample code is also included.

I'm having some trouble with the HOMEZ command. I'm trying to do a quickfix in the end of a homing program. ( I just need it to move about 20000 counts past a reference trigger istead of stopping just at it) #2J=-20000 After this I'm trying to set this position to zero by doing a HOMEZ2 command but once I add the 'HOMEZ2' command it wont even run the Jog movement. With only the jog movement it works and I can type the HOMEZ2 command online to zero it. I guess there is probably some obvious mistake I did but I cant figure it out. Any ideas is appreciated :)

Attached is a simple Text file with list of Molex connectors used on Delta Tau products. It shows the DT part#, Molex connector and pin part#'s and also the Molex Crimp tool part number needed. This does not include the newest Clipper LV or Breakout boards. I will add this info when it become available.

I have two questions to ask about Turbo PMAC2 clipper. 1. use DAC+CHA to control Direct Current Brushless Motor(DCBM) in close-loop: The velocity of DCBM(including drivers) controlled by voltage, and the feedback signal in motor gives 3 lines per revolution. I use M102 to change the DAC voltage, and use M166 to read the real-time motor speed. But the real pulse frequence is between 200Hz to 300Hz, M166 couldn't get the right frequency. What's wrong? 2. pulse+direction to control the stepper motor in open-loop: I want to change the frequence in real-time mode for the stepper motor. If I input the ideal frequence, such as 200Hz, the output pulse is change…

I'm currently working on a hexapod using a GeoBrock with the 80mhz processor. The customer requires showing how much travel is left on each axis after the previous move is completed. I have completed the code to make this happen in VB and I'm trying to decide if I should port the code to the GeoBrick or my HMI. This bit of code is fairly large and I am concerned about it affecting performance of my GeoBrick. Is there any way to look at my current program/kinematics running and determine if adding this large chunk of code will adversely affect the operation of the hexapod? Thanks.

Does anyone have any code examples to set the IP address of a PMAC from an application in VB.NET (or in C#)? I need to provide this functionality in my HMI application - I do not want the user to access EthUSBConfigure.exe.
